He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Watts and Fronie Towery Watts; and his siblings, Tom Watts, Paul Watts, Ola Christopher, Hazel Rhom and Martha Cline.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Maney Watts; his children, Bobby Edward Watts of Lincolnton, Cathy M. Dellinger of Belwood, Sandy Neal of Crouse and Patricia Auton of Lincolnton; and his grandchildren, Carrie Beard of Travis Bivens, R. J, Dellinger, Lynn Schmidt, Stephanie Linares, Nathaniel Neal, Ashley Gehrig and Craig Watts. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
