She was predeceased by: her parents, William Edward Hovis Sr. and Myrtle Edith Plonk Hovis; her husband Hubert Bain "Polie" Mauney; and her siblings, Odell Franklin Hovis, James David Hovis, Max Gamble Hovis, William Edward Hovis Jr., Lavon Elaine Hovis Bynum, Virginia Willie Hovis Hayden, Georgia Katherine Hovis Wilson, Evelyn Elizabeth Hovis Puett, Betty Jean Hovis Houston and Sue Carolyn Hovis Heafner.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan (Alan Hutcherson) and Amanda (Darryl Minges); and her siblings-in-law, Ruth McSwain Mauney of Lincolnton and Donald Hugh Rash of Lincolnton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
