He was predeceased by: his parents, William Caswell Houser and Myrtle Roark Houser; and his siblings, Ilease Campbell, Ethel Perkins, Dorothy Rudisill, William Anderson Houser, Charlie Clyde Houser, Fred Wilford Houser, Hazeline Link and Kenneth Myra Houser.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Whitener Houser; his children, Mike Houser (Heidi) of Vale, NC and Chellie Valentine (Mitch) of Gastonia, NC; his grandchildren, Tanner Valentine of Gastonia, Evan Valentine of Gastonia, Valerie Smith (Donald) of Hickory and Emily Gardner of Lincolnton; and his great grandchildren, Alaina Walker of Hickory and Ryleigh Kate Dellinger of Lincolnton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Salem Lutheran Church (3410 Startown Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery (3410 Startown Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
