He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth Rudisill Hovis and L. C. Hovis, Jr.; his siblings, Conrad Hovis, III, Edward Hovis and Judy Griffin; his wife Linda Porter; his daughters, Kynlon Sherrill (Hovis) and Allison Jolly (Hovis); his sons-in-law, Greg Sherrill and Darren Jolly; his grandchildren, Alex, Gabe, Ginny (Kyle) and Parker; and his great grandchildren, Aubry Grace, Mason, Pierce, Lulu, Blakely and Daisy.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Larry Mac's legacy, the family requests donations to Christian Ministries of Lincoln County, PO Box 423, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
