We announce the death of Laura Elaine Waters Smith (Lincolnton, North Carolina), who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 81. Laura will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Darius Waters and Inez Caldwell Long. She is survived by: her husband Jimmy H. Smith; her daughter Courtney Smith of Lincolnton; and her brother Mark Stamey of Lincolnton.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Covenant Church (2168 Gastonia Hwy, Lincolnton, NC 28092). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
