He is survived by: his wife Inez Biondo Soorus; his sons, Steve Soorus (Mary) of Tampa, FL, Scott Soorus (Kimberly) of Denver, NC and Shane Soorus (Freddy) of Miami, FL; his grandchildren, Jacob Soorus, Chloe Soorus, Willa Soorus and Harper Soorus; his pet Hunter; and his siblings, John Soorus (Sharon) and Louise Ritter (Gerald).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter by-the-Lake (8433 Fairfield Forest Rd STE 1, Denver, NC 28037).
