He is survived by: his mother Shirley Southers Sigmon (John) of Maiden; his wife Wendy Gay Southers; his daughters, Whitney McCaskill (Cody) of Catawba and Katelyn "Katie" Pope (Steven) of Claremont; his stepchildren, Maranda Rorie (Joseph) of Shallotte and Lee Broom (Heather) of Myrtle Beach; and his siblings, Pennie Yancey (Jeff) of Maiden and Bill Southers (Barbara) of Maiden. He is also survived by grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
