She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mize and Rosa Lee Mize; her husband Jerry Ray Doby; her son Kenny Lanier, Sr.; and her siblings, Leroy, Buck, Lillie Mae, Jean and Ruth.

She is survived by: her children, Bobby G. Lanier of Iron Station, Michael A. Lanier of Granite Falls, Randy E. Lanier of Charlotte and Jennifer Overcash of Maiden; and her stepson Travis Doby (Candy) of Concord. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
