It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Patricia Ann Smith Abernathy of Lincolnton, North Carolina, born in Chester, South Carolina, who passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Zebulon Vance and Ludie Brakefield Smith, Sr.; her husband Jack McCraven Abernathy; her daughter Teresa Abernathy Henley; and her brothers, Zebulon Vance Smith, Jr. and George Hennies Smith.

She is survived by : her daughters, Cyndi Noles (Mark) of Cramerton and Jackie Chapman (Scott) of Lincolnton; her son-in-law Andrew "A. J." Henley of Cherryville; her sister Martha Smith Curry (Lee) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Lacie Chapman Norman (Kevin) of Vale, Tyler Chapman of Crouse, Matthew Noles of Washington, D. C., Bayleigh Stroupe (Wes) of Charleston, SC and McCraven Brooke Henley of Cherryville; and her great grandchildren, Holden McCraven Norman, Ashtyn Chapman and Raelynn Patrice Norman. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
