It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Lee Carpenter (Lincolnton, North Carolina), who passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilburn Hugh and Ora Sellers Carpenter; her husband Franklin Sidney Carpenter; her siblings, William Luther Carpenter, Ora Jeanette Sisler and Margaret Catherine Lynch; and her son-in-law Clifford Edward Cunningham.
She is survived by: her children, Franklin Sidney Carpenter, Jr. (Gail) of Lincolnton, NC, Eric W. Carpenter (Renee) of Lake Wylie, SC, Leanne Carpenter Cunningham of Black Mountain, NC and Karen Carpenter Hough (Boyd) of Salisbury, NC; and her siblings, Benjamin Hugh Carpenter (Libby) of Lincolnton, NC and Brenda Gail Carpenter of Lincolnton, NC. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
