With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sue Costner Mobley Mobley (Lincolnton, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on September 17, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Costner and Jessie Millsaps Costner; her husband Reverend Jerry Mobley; her son Chuck Mobley; and her sisters, Judy Clark and Betty McCurry.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jeremy Mobley, Beth Mobley, Kali Mobley (Paul), Katie Beasley (James), Michael Taylor, Maggie Bradshaw (John), Benjamin Kahler (Brittany) and Jordan Day Short; her great grandchildren, Addison Beasley, Beau Kahler, Brynn Kahler, Harper Beasley and Kate Bradshaw; and her sisters, Billie Whiten and Myrtle England. She is also survived by mother, and grandmother.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation (2916 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (2858 N North Carolina Hwy 150, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
