“Bill took care to remember his niece and nephew Lee Holsopple and Ryan Holsopple, his sister’s children, at Christmas with ham and cheese gift baskets so they could “have some Christmas!” As I recall, Bill loved board games, cats, and the beach and will be remembered for his care of his congregants. The photo below is from his farm in 2023 where he was planting blueberry bushes and looking forward to retirement.”

Susanna Holsopple wrote a sympathy message

“Bill was my uncle. I’d like to offer a reflection about him. Bill graduated from high school in Forsyth County heading to Brevard College and then to NC State majoring in agricultural science. After several years in the farm industry, he heard a higher calling and studied a divinity degree at Duke University and after graduation he entered a life of ministry with the United Methodist Church holding pastoral positions alongside his wife, Jackie also a reverend.”
