He was predeceased by: his parents, William Stubin Davis and Frankie Irene Finley Davis; and his siblings, Billy Davis, Mildred Davis, Evelyn Davis, Rosetta "Rose" Davis and Midge Davis.

He is survived by: his children, Dylan Groves of Archdale and Crystal Pate (John) of Denton; his sisters, Peggy Davis of Lexington, Bobbie Butler (Bob) of Salisbury, Brenda Everhart (Ronald) of Lexington, Bonnie Jones (Jimmy) of Lexington and Lois Coley (Richard) of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Jordan Groves, Austin Edwards, Jaxon Pate and Spencer Pate.
