He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas M. Mustian and Christine M. Mustian. He is survived by: his son Douglas A. Mustian (Leigh) of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Matthew Goodwin (Jen), Megan Long (Matt) and Jackson Mustian; his great grandchildren, Remington and Brody; his sister Linnea Mustian Westbrook; and his nephews, David Westbrook Brian Westbrook (Susan) and John Westbrook (Kristin).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Disabled Veterans of America in Dad's name.
