She was predeceased by: her parents, Melbert Arleen Barbee and Ella Mae Aycock Barbee; her husband Reece Ray Almond; her sister Bessie Ruth Tolbert; and her grandson Neil Brandon Palmer.
She is survived by: her children, Gilton Almond (Bennie), Sybil Bell (Dennis) of Mount Holly, NC and Sharon Truitt (Chris) of Charlotte, NC; her siblings, Louise Little of Concord, NC, Bobby Barbee (Linda) of Midland, NC and Roy Lee Barbee (Louise) of Monroe, NC; and her grandchildren, Mark, Chris, Brad, Karen, Michael, Jessica, Matt and Allison. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Kinza Memorial Bapt Church (4311 Love Mill Rd, Stanfield, NC 28163). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
