He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralston Metz and Ruth Metz; and his siblings, Gene Metz, Ruth Reynolds and Ann Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Metz; his children, Steve Metz of Charlotte, NC, Jeff Metz (Lori) of Vinton and Valerie Gladden (Wylie) of Huntersville, NC.; and his siblings, Jim Metz (Cynthia), David Metz (Pam), Norma Thornhill (Bill) and Lois Ferris (Donnie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
