Dawn Basler Obituary
Dawn Mullen Basler, 72, passed away on October 20, 2025 at her home in Wake Forest, NC.
Dawn was born on July 5, 1953 to the late Paul and Louise Wells Mullen. In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Carsten B. Basler; her sister, Paulette M. Brown; and her son-in-law, Keith Thomas.
Dawn is survived by her nephew, Garrett Brown; her daughter, Christie Thomas; her grandchildren, Kody Thomas (Jackie), Kayla Bush (Donald), and Karley Thomas (Casey); her great-grandchildren, Nolan Thomas, Easton Thomas, Karsten Bush, Charlotte Thomas, and Kamri Bush; and numerous cousins.
Dawn was known as being one of the kindest and giving people you could ever meet, she was willing to give you the shirt off of her back. She loved her family, friends, children, and her dog "Sadie". Dawn enjoyed trips to the beach and the relaxation of fishing.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC 27549. A graveside funeral service will then be held at 2:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg with the Reverend David Averette officiating.
