Ernest Howard Smith, Jr., 76, passed away on October 20, 2026.

EH was born on November 20, 1949, to the late Ernest Howard Smith, Sr. and Marie Harper Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Smith.

EH is survived by his wife, Nell White Smith; brother, Ricky Smith (Jodie); sisters, Joan Batton (Ricky) and Gloria Smith; daughters, Jennifer Smith Robinson (Ronnie) and Jackie Strickland Miller (Dwayne); grandchildren, Susan Smith Pulliam (Shawn), Alaina Burbank, Dylan Burbank, Austin Burbank, and Morgan Cassidy (David); and great-grandchildren, Hunter Thorne, Allie Pulliam, Landon Schlitz, Victor Tate Golden, and Aurora Cassidy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services in Louisburg, North Carolina, with Harry Upchurch officiating.
