He is survived by: his wife Barbara Watkins; his children, DeeDee Sanders (Janes) of Louisburg, NC, Delphia Moses (Thomas) of Louisburg, NC, Ginger Terrell (Kenneth) of Raleigh, NC and Tracy Watkins of Louisburg, NC; and his siblings, Shirley Harris (Ted) of Rolesville, NC, Janie Greene (Johnnie) of Raleigh, NC, Wilma Doris Lucas (Alfonso) of Nashville, NC, Ethel Lee Cooley of Raleigh, NC, Newbern Watkins, Jr. (Lucy) of Raleigh, NC, Edward Lewis Watkins (Barbara) of Wendell, NC and Lonnie Thomas Watkins of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
