He was predeceased by : his parents, Prentice Motley and Louise Motley (Moore); his wife Denise Annette Christian; and his siblings, Prentice, Jr., Constance Patricia, Ronald and Meryl Ballard.

He is survived by : his sons, Von Kyle (Kileen) and Jerome Dallas (Melony); his sisters, Ann, Drucilla and Karen; his mother-in-law Dolores Christian; his brothers, Luell (Delsia Thompson) and Kevin B. (Deanna Thomas); his goddaughter Nicole Thomas; his close friends, Julie Cortes, Angie Hart, Brandon and Sue White; his pets, Max, Garth and Waylon; and also Pearl. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
