Marlene Leslie Lutz Obituary
Marlene Leslie Lutz, 71, of Louisburg, NC passed away on September 18, 2026.
Marlene was born on December 17, 1954 in Bayshore NY to the late Robert and Joan Brainard.
Following her service in the US Army, Marlene worked as a pet sitter and groomer and fully embraced the title "Dog Mom.". She loved camping, the beach, and all things adventure. Marlene will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who could always find the good in people.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her step-mother Marlene Brainard and sister Gretchen Brainard.
In addition to her husband Eugene Gerald Lutz Jr, Marlene is survived by her stepdaughter Melissa Schwartz (Adam); stepson Mathew Lutz (Sarah); bonus daughters Mary and Natalie Corning; niece Schuyler Mitchell; nephews Ryan, Connor, and Patrick Brainard; grandchildren Hunter, Piper, and Hogan Schwartz; brother Robert Brainard (Linda); and stepsister Kristin Mitchell.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Lancaster Funeral & Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg, NC, 27549 from 5 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 25, 2026 at 2 pm at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd, Wendell, NC 27591.
