With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruby Hughes of Louisburg, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence Thomas McGhee Crews and William McGhee (Bill); and her siblings, Annie Bea Coghill (Deales), Viola Robertson (Obey), Hazel Alaniz (John), Connie McGhee (Mozelle), Alexander McGhee Jamie McGhee (Doris) and Arvid McGhee.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa H. Ellis (Dave), Chris Hughes (Debra), Fenner Hughes and Chuck Chambers; her grandchildren, Shellie Hughes Finch (Josh) and Brandon Hughes (Makayla); her children, Gracie, Riley, Paisley, Caleb Day, Emory Richardson, Hannah Pernell Hughes (Jacob) and Josie Cardenas; and her sister Billie Ann Kanouse (Bill). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
