He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlie Boy and Annie Ruth Mangum Pace; his wife Elizabeth Dean Richardson; and his siblings, Charles Wayne, Bobby Allen Pace, Margaret Whitley, Rose Gay and Ruth Collins.

He is survived by : his children, Marlys Pace Horton (Gray) of Wendell, Timothy Mangum Pace (Linda) of Wendell and Laurie Pace Hicks (Brandon) of Wendell; his grandchildren, Cameron Horton Zurn (Graig), Tyler Horton (Lily), Ashley Pace Massey (David), Travis Pace (Meagan), Bailey Hicks and Carsyn Hicks; his great grandchildren, Charlotte Zurn, Emme James Zurn and Everett Massey; and his sister Julia Creech (Penny) of Zebulon.
