She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter "Walt" McCurry and Edna Ruth Duncan of Belmont, NC.. She is survived by: her husband Grady Poteat; her children, Michael McCurry (Michelle) of Lowell, NC, Rocky Poteat (Ashley) of Fountain Inn, SC, Brian Poteat (Miranda) of Bessemer City, NC and Michelle Raines (Susanna) of Charlotte, NC.; her grandchildren, Kyle, Nicholas, Austin, Travis, Jasmin, Remington and Kaitlyn; her great grandchild Xander; her brothers, Monte McCurry (Sheila), Roger McCurry (Tina) and Clinton Stephenson (Martha); and her sister-in-law Wanda Poteat.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Gaston County Animal Care, reflecting her deep love for her canine friends.
