It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annie Lee Chavis (Lumberton, North Carolina), who passed away on September 5, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Curtis Chavis Jr.; her parent Daisy Scott; her sons, James Chavis, Michael Chavis and Frankie Chavis; and her grandchild Shawn Chavis.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Chavis (Pauline) of Fairmont, Joey Jacobs (Carolee) of Lumberton, Barbara Sampson of Lumberton, Sue Jones of Lumberton, Nancy Oxendine of Lumberton, Ginny Taylor (David) of Lumberton and Diane Hammonds of Lumberton; and her caregiver Melissa Jones. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
