She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Jasper Ellis and Maggie Byrd Ellis; and her husband James Edward Brown. She is survived by: her children, Ermena Jenkins (Robert) of Lumberton, Brenda McCallum (Ernest) of Winston-Salem, Edward Brown (Melinda) of Lumberton, Anthony Brown (Sharon) of Lumberton, Debra Royster (Alvin) of Lumberton and Danny Brown; her stepdaughter Linda Jones of Lumberton; and her sister Betty Brown (Edith Taylor) of Lumberton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
