He was predeceased by: his parents, Murdock Butler and Evelyn Butler; and his siblings, Earl, Woodrow Butler and Margaret Chavis.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Steven Butler and Barbara Butler of Ft. Polk, LA; and his grandchildren, Brandi Oxendine, Lorena Molina, Lorenzo Molina, Ariel Molina and David Molina. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, Inc. (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358).
