He is survived by: his wife Melba Cox; his children, Joey Cox (Lisa) and Paula; his son-in-law Anthony Lanier; his grandsons, John Tilman Lanier (Leah) and Hunter Cox (Taylor); his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Cox, Grayson Cox, Jennings Lanier and Cooper Cox; his siblings, Dickie Cox (Christine), Myrtle Townsend, Annie Rose Bowen and Elizabeth Taylor; his niece Gina; and his nephew Howard Branch. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
