He was predeceased by: his parents, John Norton and Flonnie Belle Oxendine. He is survived by: his wife Gladys Jones Norton; his children, Jimmy Avery, Jackie Avery (Pat), Terry Avery, Jr., Avery (Flora Brown Avery), Bobby Avery (Angie), David Avery and Carolyn Avery; and his siblings, John Norton, Cleo Norton, Emily Hall and Marie Hall. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
