With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine West Penney of Lumberton, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 25, 2025 at the age of 71. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin Donald West, Sr. and Betty Pittman West; and her children, Brandon Everette Penney and Melanie Penney. She is survived by: her husband Gary "Pete" Pope; her sons, Matthew Brian Hood (Jenn) and Lebron Land (Crystal); her grandchildren, Brandi Lee Gonzales, Danny Logan Smith, Ashlynn Renee Hood, Matthew Brian Hood, Jr., Wesley Reed Hood, Logan Land, Jim Land, Cheyenne Land and Dillon Land; her siblings, Sandra K. Carnes (Steve) and Ervin Donald West, Jr.; and her niece Paula Carnes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Floyd Mortuary Chapel (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358).
