He was predeceased by: his daughter Rhonda Elaine Benton; his parents, Margie Butler Lewis and David Edward Benton; his siblings, Ernie Lewis, Tommy Lewis, Johnny Lewis and Peggy Lewis; Artie.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Phillys Benton; his daughter Nancy Benton Ward (Michael) of Lumberton, NC; his granddaughter Jessica Green Davis (Jon); his great grandchild Haven; and his siblings, Tim Lewis (Sandra), Gary Lewis (Beth), Elizabeth Andrews, Patricia Kinlaw, Jewel Hunt, Nova Lewis and Anita Lennon. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Floyd Mortuary and Crematory Inc. (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Floyd Memorial Chapel (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at the Phillips Family Cemetery (92 Todd Farm Rd, Lumberton, NC 28358).
