It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved David Wesley Chavis (Lumberton, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 83, on April 8, 2024. He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Chavis and Ellen Chavis; his brothers, Earl Chavis, Ronald Chavis and Marvin Chavis; and his grandson Christopher Dwayne Oxendine.

He is survived by : his wife Audrey Sampson Chavis; his children, Edie Locklear (Ricky) of Mooresville, NC, Jamie Chavis (Mary) of Holden Beach, NC and Tammy Chavis (Rebecca) of Lumberton, NC.; and his grandchildren, Bonnie Conner (Daniel) of Chapel Hill, NC and Ashton Dugan (Marshall) of Mooresville, NC.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Deep Branch Baptist Church (4082 Deep Branch Rd, Lumberton, NC 28360). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
