He was predeceased by: his sister Donna Barnes McRae. He is survived by: his parents, Dexter "Jim" Purdie and Alice Purdie Powers (Fred Powers) of Lumberton, NC.; his children, Kobe Devan Purdie, Madden Purdie and Destiney Purdie of Lumberton; his granddaughter Alani Chavis-Pipkin of Lumberton; his siblings, Abby Lewis (Jeffery), Paula Bordeaux, Ieshia Barnes of Lumberton, Brittany Bethea (Saquan) of Fayetteville, Anthony Purdie, Russell Barnes and Keith Bordeaux of Lumberton; his aunt Mary Lois Jones (James); his uncles, Bill Purdie, David Purdie (Linda), Arthur Howell of Lumberton, George Townsend of Fayetteville, Jerry, John Robinson and Dewayne Worley of Ohio; and his siblings' children, Earl Sinclair III, Tyra Purdie, Justin Currie Monte, Logan, Alicia, Adrianna, Maya and Gabriela Purdie of Lumberton.
