He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Lowery of Lumberton, Donald Carter, Jr. and Byron Carter of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Zachary Carter, Tristan Brewington, Heidi Sampson and Nolan Malone; his stepgranddaughter April Chavis; his great grandchildren, Elana Sampson, Harlynn Sampson and Zayn Carter; his brothers, Larry Hunt (Stephanie) of Pembroke, Guilford Carter of Lumberton, Ronald Carter (Brenda) of Fairmont, Robert Carter (Holly) of San Diego, David Carter (Pearlie) of Coeburn and Wayne Carter (Darlene) of Raynham; and his half-brother Gary Carter of Fairmont. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
