He was predeceased by : his parents, Boston Hunt and Thelma Hunt; and his siblings, Lee Verchus Locklear, Alice Oxendine, Jovis Hunt, N. L. Hunt and Ronnie Hunt.

He is survived by : his daughter Kelsey Marie Hunt; his grandchildren, Zaylon Hunt, Kamden Hill and Kalena Faulk; his siblings, Pamela Hunt, Janice Rogers, Bernice Oxendine, Erma Campbell, Juanita Graham, Randy Hunt and Thomas Hunt; and his niece Heather Lowery.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Deep Branch Missionary Baptist Church (4082 Deep Branch Rd, Lumberton, NC 28360).
