He was predeceased by: his parents, Valdosta Locklear and Elmer Locklear; his children, Becky Rose Locklear and Jeremiah Junior Locklear; his granddaughter Angel Locklear; and his sister Betty Lois Jacobs.

He is survived by: his wife Verdie Lee Locklear; his daughters, Elory Locklear of Pembroke and Dostaette Locklear Holden (Anthony) of Pembroke; his grandchildren, Chelsie Holden, Carrisa Holden, Jacob Clark, Dosilyn Hammonds and Lucan Hammonds; his great grandchildren, Kendall Maynor, Kolston Oxendine and Jacey Maynor; and his sister Susie Chavis of Pembroke, NC. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
