She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank and Ellen'Tenience'Chavis; her husband Willie; her children, Franklin, Michael and Debra; her brothers, Earl, Ronald, Marvin and David Wesley'Buddy'; and her grandmother Ella Rose.
She is survived by: her son Andre (Christine); her daughter-in-law Carolyn Sue Chavis (late Michael); her sisters, Nurzie Stickney, Betty Jane Haymore, Diane Oxendine, Patricia Locklear and Sheila Burns; and her caregiver Marquita Brooks-Chavis. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, & 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Revels Funeral Home (407 Breece St, Pembroke, NC 28372). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tabernacle Baptist Church (3764 NC-711, Lumberton, NC 28360). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at the Lumbee Memorial Gardens (774 Moss Neck Rd, Lumberton, NC 28360).
