He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Lowery and Lillie J. Locklear; his sister Sophia Lowery; and his grandparents, Rev. Purcell Locklear, Flossie J. Locklear, Ziron Lowery and Delphie M. B. Lowery.
He is survived by: his son David Oxendine (Nina) of Red Springs, NC; his close friend Vera Deese of Lumberton, NC; his sisters, Angela Lowery of Red Springs, NC and Linnie Lowery of Pembroke, NC; and his stepgranddaughter Latisha Oxendine. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
