She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton Simmons and Martha Cato Jones (Cattie); and her sisters, Wanda Bandy and Mavis Carter. She is survived by: her children, David Cushing of Wilmington, NC and Amanda Leigh Cushing; and her brother Marty Simmons.
