She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Barnes and Jessie Barnes; her husband Leroy Gilchrist; her grandson Mikey Lamar Ford; her siblings, Frank, Stephanie, Wade and Eddie Barnes; her children, Wayne E., Shonia and Kimberly Gilchrist; and her grandchildren, Shatiece Castillon-Hard, Shontell Whitted, Tronell G. Dunbar, Jaclyn McNeill, Tamara Mosley, Caprice Stover and Aquilavashti Jordan (Nina).
She is survived by: her siblings, Shelby Foy, Anthony Barnes (Carol), Marcia Rose Nealy, Patricia Ann Barnes, Belton Barnes (Archie), Cassandra Barnes, Lisa Carol Barnes-Hecker and Rita Faye Watson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
