He was predeceased by: his father Rich Porter; and his siblings, Beulah Hunt, Cattie Mae Hunt, Bertha Mae Hunt, Blanche Hunt, Blonnie Mae Hunt, Hazel Ransom, Richard Buck Porter and Howard Porter.
He is survived by: his son James Michael Porter; his stepchildren, Teresa Casanova, Lacy Chavis, Tonya Porter, Tracy Porter and Tabitha Hammonds; his stepbrother Robert Porter; his nieces, Latisha Ransom and Hope Ransom; and his caregiver Dana.
