It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jalin Dewayne Brooks (Lumberton, North Carolina), who passed away on December 22, 2022, at the age of 21, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Charles "Ed" and Linda Faye McMillian; his uncle Frederick McMillian; his great-grandparent Reba McMillian; his aunt Nicki Locklear; his uncles, Ken Oxendine and Larry Oxendine; and his cousin Malachi Graham.
He is survived by: his parents, Loretta Jacobs (Joey Jacobs) and Anthony Brooks; his grandmother Betty Faye Oxendine; his brothers, Channon Jacobs, Darian Brooks and Bobby Brooks; his stepbrothers, Colbey Jacobs and Josh Locklear; his sister Danyel Brooks; and his aunts and uncles, Arlena Oxendine, Regina Hunt "Mama Gena", Gregory and Bill McMillian. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
