He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lynn Dent (Lynnie); his children, James Ellis Dent, Jr. (Fay Dent) of Rowland and Ruth Dent West (James West) of Rowland; his grandchildren, Ethan Hall (Morgan Hall) of Stafford, VA, Aaron Dent (Heidi Parton) of Sevierville, TN and Rachel Hall Jennings (Jakob Jennings) of Rowland; his great grandchildren, Karter Smith Hall, Damon Alexander Hall and Clint Avery Jennings; and his siblings, David Earl Dent (Betty Dent), Gene Watson (Velma Jean Watson), Cara Ellen Britt, Edna Ruth Hickman, Martha Rae Walters (Harold Walters), Pauline Britt and Sara Grace Bass (Jimmy Bass). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
