He is survived by: his wife Sherry Smith Oxendine; his children, Brooks Anderson of Goldsboro, NC, Heather Stephenson (Adam) of Goldsboro, NC, Amanda Anderson of Tennessee, Erica Escobar (Robert) of Kenly, NC, Beth Marie Oxendine of Stantonsburg, NC and Jeremy Wayne Oxendine (Ashley) of Conetoe, NC; his sisters, Kathy DeCesare (Carmen) of Tierra Verde and Wanda Oxendine of Lumberton, NC; and his grandmother Agnes Swett Strickland.
