He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Ray; his sister Monnie Slaughter; and his grandsons, Stephen Ray and Gavin Ray. He is survived by: his wife Sara Ann Ray; his sons, Chris Ray (Misty) of Thomasville and James "Tony" Ray of Fayetteville; and his grandchildren, Lindsay, Blake, Dylan, Sara and Betty Marie.
