He was predeceased by: his parents, William Grooms and Mattie Neal Stubbs Grooms; and his sister Sherry Grooms. He is survived by: his wife Vickie Grooms; his children, Billy Grooms (Brooke), Johnny Grooms (Kimberly), Joseph Grooms (Audrey), Melissa Grooms, Amber Grooms Hyatt (Philip) and Heather Grooms; his grandchildren, Zeke Grooms, Makenzie Grooms, Paxton Grooms, Mila Grooms, Declan Grooms, Jayden Grooms, Jacksen Grooms, Colten Grooms, Kyleigh Grooms, Nicholas Grooms, Logan Wactor, Kennedy Hyatt, Dawson Hyatt, Felicity Rhymes, Zabriel Jones, Isaiah Jones, Kelsey Richardson of Tommie, Oxendine, Jr. and Marissa Carter; and his great grandchildren, Preston Delvalle, Owen Devalle, Ella Oxendine and Keegan Hunt. He is also survived by six children, nineteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
