She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Earl and Florence Rebecca Miller Pierce; her husband Benjamin Louis McVay; and her siblings, Jacob Pierce, Lewis Pierce, Juanita Hilliard, Roxie Hardman and Ellen Smith.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Linda Diane Simmons; her son-in-law John Simmons III; her great grandchildren, Ashley Simmons and Steven Simmons; her great great grandchildren, Gracie Simmons, Justin Simmons, Benjamin Watkins and Nova Simmons; and her brothers, Elmer Pierce of Oxford and Richard Pierce of Oxford.
