It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richie Lee Chavis Jr. of Lumberton, North Carolina, who passed away on June 28, 2023, at the age of 32, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Amos Jacobs, James Howard Chavis Sr. and Carolyn Faye Chavis; his uncle James Howard Chavis Jr.; his brother Joseph Deon Chavis; and his mother-in-law Belinda Mc Girt.

He is survived by: his parents, Richie Lee Chavis Sr. and Merlinda R. Jacobs (Richie Lee Chavis Sr.); his wife Laken L. McGirt; his daughter Madelyn R. Chavis; his stepsons, Isiah J. Jones and Jaxon K. Hammonds; his brothers, Casey D. Chavis and Josiah S. Chavis; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Chavis; and his niece Khloe F. Locklear. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, special cousins and friends.
