He is survived by: his mother Margie Dew of Dublin; his wife Sharon Tyson of Gastonia; his children, Amanda Chambers (Julius), Jessica Tyson of Wadesboro, Melanie Burrington-Voges of Wisconsin and Lee Tyson of Gastonia; his stepdaughter Carrie Dowd of Gastonia; his grandchildren, Jarod Tyson, Jacob Register (Payton), Sara Long (Charlie), Kristin Hill and Kathy Hill; and his siblings, Donna Tyson-Blackburn of Hope Mills, Vanessa Bunch (Mike) of Murfreesboro and Doyle Tyson (Wendy). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
