He was predeceased by: his mothe Annie Mae Hall Chavis; and his siblings, Georgle Oliver and Selma Marie Bullard. He is survived by: his close friend Margaret "Margie" Canady; and his children, Donna Butler (Roger "Pops") of Lumberton, Ricky Chavis (Cheryl) of St. Pauls, Roger Chavis (Dorothy) of Lumberton and Bobby Chavis of Lumberton. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
